Bald Head Island
For the first weekend in August we decided to take the kids somewhere and have a weekend adventure. We asked all of them what they wanted to do and all 3 of them responded with- "go to the beach!" We knew we would be doing that the next weekend with the youth of our church so we told them to think of something else and Randi came up with "go to a lighthouse!" Not what we expected but everyone got excited so we headed off for a day at Bald Head Island to see Old Baldy Lighthouse.
We were able to walk to the lighthouse and climb the 100 stairs to the top. It was VERY hot but we all made it and enjoyed the view from the top.

One of the best parts of going to the island was riding on the ferry. They don't allow cars on the island so riding the ferry is the only way to get there. The kids loved the boat ride and would have spent the day doing that.
It's kind of hard to see in these pictures but this is actually a pirate ship. It was pirate weekend at Bald Head Island so the kids got to see Pirates on the island and learn a little bit about them. It was a great trip!
